Join us for art and writing workshops for kids at Backyard Birds in Spruce Grove & The Tiny Shop Upstairs in Edmonton!  

 

1pm-2pm - Illustration

Have fun exploring techniques for inventing characters and learn how to bring them to life in your own drawings. In this class, students will create a character and practice drawing techniques.

2:15pm-3:15pm - Storytelling

Explore telling stories using pictures and words through comics and bookmaking. Students will make a mini comic and learn techniques for how they can create their very own books.

Have fun exploring different DIY handmade animation techniques.

1pm-2pm - Drawing (Flip Books)

Students will learn how to make their characters move through creating their own flip books.

2:15pm-3:15pm - Stop Motion (Cutouts)

In this class, students will create 2D cutout puppets of their characters and learn how to make them move through stop motion animation.
